About the position

The Python Software Developer at ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, is responsible for transitioning and enhancing the functionality of the PostGIS database and Jupyter Notebook based on customer requirements. This role involves developing prototypes to address new inquiries and improve existing solutions, creating user-facing query forms for geospatial data analysis, and providing development support for analytic front ends. Additionally, the developer will maintain operational support for customized analytics and offer subject matter expertise in metric generation and application usage.

Responsibilities

• Transition the functionality of the PostGIS database and Jupyter Notebook based on customer direction.
• Develop prototypes to answer new questions and improve existing answers based on customer direction.
• Create user-facing query forms to leverage stored data for geospatial analysis.
• Provide development support to analytic front ends to ensure conformity and performance to proposed GUI designs.
• Maintain operational support for Customized/Do It Yourself analytics.
• Offer subject matter expertise for metric generation, usage, and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience; Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience; or high school diploma/GED plus 9 years of relevant experience with in-depth related experience.
• Degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field.
• TS/SCI clearance with FS polygraph.
• Strong Python skills using PySpark, developing software in Red Hat Linux (versions 3 - 5+).
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks.
• Experience with Machine Learning.
• Experience with GHOSTMACHINE analytic development.
• Familiarity with Query Time Analytics and DX.
• Familiarity with Redshift.
• Familiarity with Pandas.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem solving, logic, and analytic skills.
