About the position

The Quant Core Data team is a new and rapidly growing group within the Quant Engineering & Data group, focused on producing data for quantitative research and strategy development. The team is primarily based in Philadelphia but also supports global data flows for offices in Sydney and Dublin. The role of the Python Developer involves scaling and enhancing the historical data framework critical to strategy development, emphasizing performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale the data framework with a focus on efficiency and robustness.
• Build packages used exclusively by expert users to evolve signal generation technology.
• Engage in greenfield development opportunities to optimize existing tooling from scratch.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience in Python, developing software with strict performance requirements.
• Deep appreciation for performance and benchmarking.
• Experience in large scale computing problems and performance trade-offs.
• Strong systems fundamentals including virtual memory, NUMA, I/O, and networking.
• Deep Linux knowledge and strong systems fundamentals.
• Experience in Python data analysis and/or low-level Python.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Enthusiasm for working with large sets of data.
• Good aesthetics for cleanliness and correctness in data.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
