About the position

The Embedded / Firmware Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing and maintaining software for the world's largest fleet of industrial autonomous robots. This role focuses on creating innovative solutions that enhance performance and safety in robotic systems, ensuring they meet Amazon's high standards while improving the experience for customers and associates alike.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robotic systems used in the autonomous robot fleet.
• Learn and master multiple components including networking/wifi, security navigation, obstacle detection, motor control, and various sensors.
• Participate in the architecture of complex systems and collaborate with coworkers to achieve team goals.
• Provide feedback in the peer review process and communicate effectively with technical leadership.
• Create solutions that balance world-class performance and safety.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 2+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Familiarity with developing in a safety standards controlled environment such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262.
