About the position

The Technical QA Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of data and software products at Throtle. This hybrid position requires close collaboration with technical teams, particularly the Data team, to manage and deliver QA and Data Quality projects effectively. The analyst will oversee the entire QA execution process, converting project specifications into comprehensive test plans and managing QA execution from start to finish. This hands-on role demands effective communication between Business and Technology teams to ensure that all QA activities align with project goals and deadlines. In this position, the QA Analyst will be responsible for creating tools, best practices, and documentation for the team's reference. They will ensure timely completion of QA work streams by managing QA activities and multitasking effectively. Regular communication of status updates is essential to meet deadlines and maintain transparency with stakeholders. The analyst will utilize their QA expertise and strong data querying skills to analyze data, evaluate states, and communicate issues effectively. Continuous improvement will be promoted, encouraging team input on innovative ideas to enhance QA processes. The role also involves managing weekly meetings with key stakeholders to define QA scope, objectives, resource allocation, and schedules. The individual must understand all regulations and laws applicable to their assigned roles and responsibilities, ensuring compliance with security requirements, particularly concerning ePHI. The QA Analyst will be expected to support testing methodologies while CI/CD is in action as part of the DevOps process, demonstrating a strong knowledge of data management and modern data technologies in the cloud, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire QA execution process.
  • Create tools, best practices, and documentation for the team's reference.
  • Ensure timely completion of QA work streams by managing QA activities.
  • Multitask and communicate status regularly to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Utilize QA expertise and strong data querying skills to analyze data, evaluate states, and effectively communicate issues.
  • Promote continuous improvement and encourage team's input on innovative ideas.
  • Manage weekly meetings with key stakeholders to define QA scope, objectives, resource allocation, and schedule.
  • Understand all regulations and laws applicable to assigned roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures governing assigned roles and responsibilities, including compliance with security requirements of ePHI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with high volume transaction environments.
  • Strong SQL skills are required.
  • Experience using visual tools to ensure transparency in tracking key QA milestones.
  • Experience with various project methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Testing framework experience on any tool (React unit, Cypress, React Testing Library, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of data management and different modern data technologies in cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Adept with test automation tools and frameworks (Postman, Selenium, JUnit, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly and operate effectively in grey areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • UI/UX expertise is a plus.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, DevOps, Confluence, and Asana.
