About the position

The Quality Analyst II position at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology involves working closely with software engineering teams to ensure the quality of consumer-facing applications. The role requires defining and executing testing coverage, participating in the software development lifecycle, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver innovative content. The QA Analyst will be responsible for executing test cases, communicating defects, and developing test plans while maintaining a focus on product quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned test cases and test plans, find and replicate defects, and document reproducible steps in the bug database.
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings to review functional and design specifications and understand their impact on development features.
  • Communicate defects effectively to stakeholders and developers, leading test sessions with key team members to ensure product functionality.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and supplemental documentation while maintaining the QA process, including collaboration with the Automation team.
  • Work closely with geo-distributed QA team members to ensure full integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant QA experience.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for writing test plans and communicating bugs.
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables to quickly identify defects.
  • Experience with various QA tools and platforms (ADB, XCode, Charles Proxy, Postman, SOAtest, Selenium, etc.).
  • Familiarity with issue tracking software like Jira or GitHub.
  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance practices and testing methodologies.
  • Previous exposure to API test automation processes and frameworks.
  • Experience writing test cases, test plans, and overseeing the QA process.
  • Experience in agile software development teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated test tools.
  • Experience executing automated scripts.
  • Understanding of how to interpret the results of automated test runs.
  • Experience with mobile products/ecosystem, connected devices, or video game testing.
  • Experience writing test cases in Gherkin or Cucumber.
  • Disney knowledge and fandom.
