About the position

The Disney Entertainment & ESPN QA Engineering team is seeking a skilled and dedicated Quality Analyst II to join our team. In this role, the individual will collaborate closely with the software engineering team and other QA Analysts to define and execute the testing coverage needs for our products that deliver innovative content to our consumer-facing applications across the Disney brand. The Quality Analyst will be integral to the release team for multiple, sequential releases and will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This position requires a commitment to quality and a passion for ensuring that all deliverables meet functional specifications and requirements. As a Quality Analyst II, the individual will execute assigned test cases and test plans, find and replicate defects, and write reproducible steps in our bug database system. They will also ensure that validated deliverables meet the necessary specifications. Participation in sprint planning review meetings is essential to understand how functional and design specifications impact features in development. The Quality Analyst will lead supplemental test plan reviews with peers, developers, and product team members, effectively communicating defects to stakeholders and developers responsible for the products in test. Additionally, they will develop test plans, test cases, and other documentation as needed while maintaining the QA process, including working with the Automation team to translate manual test cases into automated test scripts. The role also involves close collaboration with geo-distributed QA team members to ensure full integration and effective communication across teams. Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned test cases and test plans.
  • Find, replicate, regress defects and write reproducible steps in our bug database system.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional specifications and requirements.
  • Participate in sprint plan review meetings to review functional and design specs and understand how those impact features in development.
  • Lead supplemental test plan reviews with peers, developers, and product team members.
  • Effectively communicate defects to stakeholders and developers responsible for products in test.
  • Lead various test sessions with key members of the delivery team to ensure functionality of product(s).
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and other supplemental documentation as needed while maintaining the QA process.
  • Work with the Automation team to translate manual test cases into automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate with geo-distributed QA team members to ensure full integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant QA experience.
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) to write test plans and test cases.
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience with various QA tools and platforms (ADB, XCode, Charles Proxy, Postman, SOAtest, Selenium, etc.).
  • Familiarity with issue tracking software like Jira or GitHub.
  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance practices and testing methodologies and tools.
  • Previous exposure to API test automation processes and frameworks.
  • Experience writing test cases, test plans and overseeing the QA process in its entirety.
  • Experience in agile software development teams working iteratively with designers, product managers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
