About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst II position at International Flavors and Fragrances involves maintaining daily operations of analytical equipment and managing lab testing for citrus materials. The role is crucial for ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, while also providing analytical evaluations and feedback to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily operations of all analytical equipment including Gas Chromatographs and Mass Spectrometers.
  • Manage and supervise lab testing for citrus materials based on product specifications.
  • Conduct testing in compliance with regulatory guidelines for safety, quality, and legality.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instruments, scheduling preventative maintenance.
  • Develop methods to meet the demands of the citrus industry.
  • Provide analytical evaluations of citrus materials, making pass/fail decisions.
  • Generate analytical documentation to support risk analysis and usage decisions for product non-conformances.
  • Provide analytical feedback to colleagues and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform chemical, physical, and organoleptic analysis of citrus materials according to SOPs.
  • Use Oracle and Microsoft Excel for data input and retrieval for all samples tested.
  • Provide technical assistance for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure proper identification and storage of retained samples.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping based on Good Lab Practices.
  • Utilize appropriate EHS and Food Safety Practices while performing job functions.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in QC/QA for Food, Flavor, Pharma, or Fragrance.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in QC/QA with a thorough understanding of analytical chemistry.
  • Good knowledge of GMP in laboratory, manufacturing, HACCP, and regulatory affairs.
  • Strong knowledge base of math and science using Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Ability to strategize, analyze, and solve complex, multi-layered problems.
  • Excellent communication, relationship, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages desirable.
