About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst position is crucial in ensuring that software products are free from defects before they are launched. This role involves creating and executing tests to identify any issues within the software, analyzing bugs, and documenting findings meticulously. Attention to detail is paramount, as the QA Analyst must coach their team on the effective use of testing tools, reporting results, and driving process improvements. A typical day for a QA Analyst includes developing new tests, executing them, and documenting the outcomes. If defects are identified, the analyst collaborates closely with software developers to address and patch these issues. After a defect is resolved, the QA Analyst is responsible for re-running tests to confirm that the problem has been fixed and that no new bugs have been introduced. This position is part of the Preferred Vendors department and is essential for maintaining the overall quality of the software products.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and executing tests to identify software defects before product launch.
  • Identifying and analyzing bugs found during testing and documenting them.
  • Coaching team members on managing testing tools and reporting results.
  • Developing new tests and running them to ensure software quality.
  • Collaborating with software developers to fix and patch defects found during testing.
  • Re-running tests after defects have been patched to ensure no new bugs are introduced.
  • Analyzing and monitoring the performance of products.
  • Developing and implementing test plans for product defects.
  • Reviewing and approving test results.
  • Developing and tracking test metrics.

Requirements

  • Experience in manual functional and regression testing.
  • Some experience with automation testing, preferably using Selenium with Java.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with software developers and team members.
  • Experience in developing and implementing test plans.
