About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for coordinating the quality assurance and quality control functions of the laboratory. This individual will work closely with the QA Director to implement quality programs and make necessary updates to maintain compliance with corporate quality programs and lab accreditation, where applicable. The role is crucial in ensuring that all laboratory processes meet the required standards and regulations, thereby contributing to the overall quality of the laboratory's output. In this position, the QA Analyst will review raw data and associated analytical reports for accuracy and compliance, ensuring that all documentation is in line with established protocols. Daily verification of Chemistry and Microbiology balances will be a key responsibility, as well as oversight of the receipt of DEA samples from clients, management of the Controlled Substance program, and coordination of the disposal process. The QA Analyst will also be tasked with the review and approval of Deviations, Out of Specification (OOS) Investigations, and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) proposals, along with other requests as assigned. Additionally, the QA Analyst will revise procedures relevant to their job description and expertise, participate in the training of quality, laboratory, and administrative staff as needed, and perform all duties in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Practicing proper current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP) is essential, and the QA Analyst will be expected to carry out other duties as required to support the laboratory's quality assurance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Review raw data and associated analytical reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform daily verification of Chemistry and Microbiology balances.
  • Oversee DEA sample receipt from clients and manage the Controlled Substance program.
  • Coordinate the disposal process of controlled substances.
  • Review and approve Deviations, OOS Investigations, and CAPA proposals.
  • Revise procedures relevant to job description and expertise.
  • Participate in training of quality, laboratory, and administrative staff as needed.
  • Perform all duties following current SOPs and practice proper cGDP.
  • Carry out other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences.
  • 0-2 years of relevant laboratory/pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic Document Control systems (e.g., CompliantPro) preferred.
  • Knowledge of documentation functions within a cGMP or ISO regulated environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
