About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst at Avantor plays a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) across North America Distribution facilities. This position is integral to ensuring compliance with ISO standards and corporate policies, fostering a culture of quality within the organization. The QA Analyst will be involved in the preparation and implementation of QA policies and procedures, managing internal audits, and assisting or leading customer audits and regulatory inspections. The role requires resolving process flow issues and ensuring adherence to safety regulations, which is critical for maintaining high-quality standards in operations. In this position, the QA Analyst will document and perform various QA activities, including creating internal audit reports, managing root cause investigations of internal errors and customer complaints, and preparing Corrective and Preventive Action reports (CAPA). Effective communication is essential, as the QA Analyst will interact directly with customers and collaborate with cross-functional departments to create and administer internal training materials. This role is not only about compliance but also about actively representing Quality at different facilities and contributing to the larger America's Quality team. The QA Analyst will report to the Manager of Distribution Quality for the US and Canada and will primarily work remotely, with a requirement to be on-site at the Bridgeport, NJ location once a week. The focus of this position is to develop, perform, manage, and continuously improve quality assurance activities in alignment with ISO and other relevant standards and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and corporate policies.
  • Create a culture of quality across North America Distribution facilities.
  • Prepare and implement QA policies and procedures.
  • Perform and manage internal audits.
  • Assist or lead customer audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Resolve process flow issues and ensure safety regulations are observed.
  • Document and perform QA activities, including creating internal audit reports.
  • Manage root cause investigations of internal errors and customer complaints.
  • Prepare Corrective and Preventive Action reports (CAPA).
  • Communicate directly with customers and create internal training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • Represent Quality at different facilities as part of the larger America's Quality team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-3 years of quality and/or customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Experience or certification as an internal auditor for ISO9001 or related standards.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience using quality management/problem-solving principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Lean principles, Six Sigma, PDCA, Kaizen) preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Proficient in computer/Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with EtQ or similar QMS software preferred.
