About the position

The QA Analyst at Security Benefit plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of technology solutions and digital experiences. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional Agile teams to identify issues, advocate for quality improvements, and drive continuous improvement across the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ideate and validate problem-solution fit.
  • Developing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate solution functionality and performance.
  • Executing manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Identifying and reporting defects, enabling accurate and timely resolution.
  • Defining and tracking key quality metrics to monitor effectiveness of built-in quality practices and collaborating on areas for improvement.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Supporting and participating in updating relevant assets with a preference to reduce dependencies and ensure flow is not blocked.
  • Proactively contributing to and providing continuous feedback on process improvements, quality initiatives, and best practices within the Agile framework.
  • Championing the concept of built-in quality within the Agile team, emphasizing the importance of preventing defects rather than just detecting them.
  • Teaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessions and workshops to educate team members on built-in quality principles, techniques, and tools.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software quality assurance and Agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; 4+ years of experience could be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and execution across different testing levels (unit, integration, system, acceptance).
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Javascript.
  • Solid knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools, such as Jira, Trello, or TestRail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • A keen customer focus, keeping the end-user in mind throughout the development process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is a plus.
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications are a plus.
