About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst role focuses on performance testing to ensure applications meet both functional and non-functional requirements, particularly those defined by Service-Level Agreements (SLAs). The position involves analyzing application functionality, defining test scenarios, executing performance tests, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the functionality and non-functional requirements (NFRs) of the application.
  • Ensure that the application meets Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Define test scenarios that evaluate the performance of key business functions.
  • Certify that the application complies with the NFRs, including load, performance, and scalability.
  • Identify the appropriate test environment and set up test data for realistic performance testing.
  • Develop detailed performance test plans that include test objectives, scenarios, and a baseline for comparison.
  • Execute performance tests according to the plan and analyze the test results.
  • Generate performance analysis reports and conduct review sessions with stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc performance testing and assist with troubleshooting performance-related issues.
  • Write and distribute risk assessments to anticipate potential performance issues.

Requirements

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of six years of experience with testing across multiple technology platforms, including web-based applications, web services, and .NET applications.
  • Proficiency with Quick Test Professional (QTP) or Unified Functional Testing (UFT) for automation testing.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, including test plans, test cycles, and best practices.
  • Excellent skills in debugging, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into test scenarios and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with source control tools like Team Foundation Server (TFS).
  • In-depth understanding of various testing techniques and methodologies.
