About the position

As a Quality Assurance Analyst at Amcor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our packaging products. This position involves testing, analysis, maintenance, and preparation for audits, as well as assisting with customer complaints and corrective actions. You will be responsible for setting best practices in the quality lab, participating in continuous improvement efforts, and providing backup support for the Quality Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a safety leader by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Conducts all necessary QC tests and analyzes QA data for trends, issuing reports as needed.
  • Utilizes various statistical analyses to solve business and quality problems.
  • Monitors and recommends improvements to critical inputs into processes.
  • Ensures that test equipment within the Quality Department is functional and appropriate.
  • Conducts internal and supplier audits as needed.
  • Prepares for and assists with customer audits and launches.
  • Supports the customer complaints and corrective action process, including investigations and follow-ups.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and reviews equipment calibrations.
  • Maintains the quality laboratory, including equipment maintenance and service contracts.
  • Determines and captures best laboratory QC/QA practices.
  • Coaches Operations staff to ensure understanding and compliance with customer expectations.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects as needed.
  • Interfaces with all departments and personnel, including Production, Technical, Customer Service, Operations, Management, and Maintenance.
  • Performs other duties in the QA department as needed.
  • Substitutes for the Quality Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years college degree in Engineering or other technical field or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years previous experience working in a Manufacturing or Quality environment desired.
  • 1+ year of experience in a comparable position, specifically analyzing problems and resolving customer issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of common Quality and Problem Solving tools such as ISO, FSSC 22000, Statistical Analysis, Pareto Charts, Histograms, and Brainstorming.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, continuous improvement tools, and methodologies (such as Six Sigma).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab.

Nice-to-haves

  • Training or experience with FSSC 22000 standards and GMP's.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects.
  • Experience with statistical analysis programs.
  • Green Belt certification is beneficial.
  • General familiarity with manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of various converting raw materials.
