About the position

The QA Analyst at Baldwin Richardson Foods is responsible for conducting analytical testing and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality specifications. This role involves utilizing laboratory techniques, performing inspections, and analyzing data to support continuous improvement initiatives within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Pre-Operational Inspections.
  • Performs perfect package checks on applicable production lines and reports issues to QA management.
  • Verifies that food safety preventive controls are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Supports and educates team members on food safety responsibilities and good manufacturing practices.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends and patterns, leading continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Performs microbiological swabs as needed.
  • Places non-conforming products on hold, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with leadership to investigate, determine root causes, and identify the range of affected products.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of production lines and processes to troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies, focusing on continuous process improvement.
  • Conducts internal audits of the facility, processes, and programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of quality assurance experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, such as food or pharmaceutical production.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certification is required.
  • Understanding of global, regional, and local food safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of food safety management systems like HACCP.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Awareness of sampling methods, product inspection, and testing protocols.
  • Basic understanding of foodborne pathogens, spoilage organisms, and how they affect product quality.
  • Familiarity with ingredient specifications, handling, and testing procedures.
  • Understanding of common food allergens and regulations related to allergen management.
  • Knowledge of internal and external auditing processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP; knowledge of Ignition is an added advantage.
