About the position

The QA Analyst at Clyde's Donuts is responsible for ensuring that raw ingredients, packaging, and finished products meet or exceed the company's Food Safety and Quality requirements. This role involves data analysis across two production sites and requires collaboration with various departments to identify areas for improvement in the production process. The position reports to the Quality Assurance Director and plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases and data analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to support the implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Review and create operation and work instructions related to SPC as needed.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Determine product, raw ingredient, and packaging acceptability against specifications and company procedures.
  • Maintain, calculate, and update finished product specifications.
  • Research root causes of nonconformities in-process and post-production.
  • Track and trend data to understand relationships between production data and observed patterns.
  • Perform analysis of data gathered during finished product characteristic checks and incoming raw ingredient checks.
  • Collaborate with all departments to identify areas of improvement in the production process.
  • Enforce Quality & Food Safety expectations and report issues to relevant supervisors.
  • Identify and place nonconforming products on hold if necessary.
  • Provide coverage for Quality Technicians as needed.
  • Comply with all Food Safety Requirements including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Food Science preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience applying statistical methods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations and knowledge of SPC and Sensory statistical techniques.
  • Comfortable in a lab and plant environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of business analytic tools and statistical software such as Power BI and Minitab.
  • Ability to work with small instruments and equipment for measurements or readings.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Nice-to-haves
