About the position

The Lead Auditor, QA Engineer at System One is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards in a nuclear environment. This role involves planning and conducting audits, evaluating suppliers, and interfacing with various stakeholders to resolve quality issues. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality assurance within regulated environments and hold relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform Supplier and Internal Audits as a Lead Auditor.
  • Perform general assessment and critique of nuclear quality programs and assessments.
  • Review customer and regulatory contracts and develop baseline requirements matrix/documents.
  • Interface with customer and supplier QA representatives and provide solutions to technical and complex compliance issues.
  • Work with Supply Chain management to resolve technical and quality deficiencies with Suppliers quality oversight of critical procurements to meet project milestones and schedules.
  • Review internal and external engineering documents including design drawings, specifications, test plans/procedures, and other technical documents.
  • Evaluate and qualify (audit/CGD) suppliers and partners.
  • Plan and perform commercial grade surveys of commercial suppliers.
  • Support Engineering with the development and implementation of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) plans.
  • Coordinate and host Customer and Regulator audits, surveillances, and visits.
  • Review and revise QA processes and procedures.
  • Review quality affecting procedures (engineering, procurement, document control, records, testing, etc.) to ensure program compliance.
  • Review procurement specifications, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, task orders and agreements to ensure flow-down of applicable quality assurance requirements.
  • Review design drawings, specifications, test plans/procedures, and other technical documents for quality assurance requirements using a graded approach to quality when applicable.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline, business, management, or quality assurance field.
  • 15+ years' experience in a nuclear (NRC, DOE) Quality Assurance function preferred or in a regulated environment such as, EPA, aerospace, etc.
  • Current certification as NQA-1 Lead Auditor or other industry recognized certification.
  • Electrical and/or I&C experience and qualifications are highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with industry codes, standards and guides such as ASME, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC and IEEE are strongly desired.
