About the position

The QA Automation Engineer at Motorola Solutions plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products within the Digital Recognition Network (DRN). This position involves designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and scripts, collaborating with development and quality assurance teams, and driving the automation strategy to enhance product quality. The role is remote and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-growing data analytics environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze functional requirements to identify software test scenarios
• Write, maintain, and execute test cases at all levels of testing on multiple web applications and platforms
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-leading automation tools and frameworks
• Identify, analyze, manage and document defects and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with the requirements and specifications
• Research and support escalated issues from technical support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and identify areas for automation
• Ensure the quality of new releases - unit test verification and system level testing
• Work closely with software developers to reproduce and explain defects
• Continuously improve and optimize existing automation frameworks for maximum efficiency and coverage
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in automation testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or 3 years related work experience
• Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role, preferably in an Agile development environment
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and defect tracking
• Proficient in understanding and writing Javascript programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of web services testing (RESTful APIs, SOAP)
• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms
• ISTQB or similar certification is a plus.
