About the position

The QA Automation Engineer role focuses on ensuring the quality of software applications through automated testing. The position requires a deep understanding of software development principles and practices, particularly within the Agile framework. The engineer will analyze requirements, create test plans, and validate that applications meet specified criteria, contributing to the overall software development life cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to write test plans and test scenarios.
  • Validate that requirements are met within the application and/or business processes.
  • Analyze software applications, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions.
  • Devise innovative solutions to identified issues.
  • Collaborate with development, testing staff, and end-users using Agile principles and methodologies.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in software development and the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • 8 years of knowledge of industry-accepted software engineering practices and life cycle methods (Agile).
  • 8 years of knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, programming languages, and operating systems.
  • 8 years of experience in analyzing requirements and writing test plans and test scenarios.
  • 3 years of skill in using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Katalon, HP LoadRunner, SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium, and SQL.
  • 3 years of experience working with varied levels of development and testing staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience using HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), SoapUI, Selenium, and JIRA.
  • Experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and HP Product Portfolio Management (PPM).
