About the position

The QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for testing a greenfield application in a highly regulated Google Cloud Platform environment. This role is critical for ensuring that the application, which consumes data sets and feeds into backend systems, is properly tested to prevent incorrect data from reaching the wrong systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, particularly in Python, and experience with automated testing frameworks such as Junit and Pytest.

Responsibilities

• Test a greenfield application in a regulated Google Cloud Platform environment.
• Generate test cases from functional/business requirements and team discussions.
• Ensure automated testing provides sufficient coverage for both positive and negative test cases.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance testing methodologies and practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding software behaviors and testing outcomes.

Requirements

• Proficient in writing Junit and Pytest scripts.
• Strong experience with backend systems.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies in a cloud environment, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in test case generation from functional/business requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Background as a Python engineer is desirable.
