About the position

Flexjet is currently seeking a QA Automation Engineer who will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of applications through automated testing. The QA Automation Engineer will analyze application functionalities and design automated tests to validate their performance. This position involves the complete development, execution, and documentation of test plans and scripts, as well as assisting non-QA resources in the planning and execution of user acceptance testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, designing, and implementing test automation frameworks that support a continuous integration and execution model. In this role, the QA Automation Engineer will create and design comprehensive testing approaches, including Unit, Functional, Integration, System, and User testing. They will be tasked with creating automation tests by analyzing user stories and acceptance criteria, developing initial test designs, writing scripts, installing automation testing protocols, and reporting results. A key responsibility will be to develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing scripts, ensuring that tests are conducted thoroughly, results are documented, and findings are presented to development teams. The QA Automation Engineer will also participate in project meetings, including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups, collaborating closely within an agile software development process alongside software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, design, and implement test automation frameworks for a continuous integration and execution model.
  • Create and design the testing approach (Unit, Functional, Integration, System, User).
  • Create automation tests by analyzing user stories, acceptance criteria, creating initial test designs, writing scripts, installing the automation testing protocols, and reporting results.
  • Develop a repeatable process for designing, developing, and executing scripts.
  • Conduct tests, document, and analyze test results, and present findings to development teams.
  • Prepare reports on all aspects related to software testing carried out.
  • Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups.
  • Collaborate within an agile software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Understanding and knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Understanding of test cases and negative, positive, and regression testing.
  • Understanding of automation testing and experience writing automation tests for REST APIs.
  • Experience with writing automation tests using one or more of the following: Postman, Playwright, SpecFlow, Selenium, Appium, etc.
  • Extremely proficient in one or more development languages (i.e. C#, Java, Python, Ruby, Gherkin, etc.).
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for manual, automation, and load testing.
  • Experience with deployments and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience gathering, refining, and validating business/technical requirements, interdependencies, cross-functional dependencies & risks/issues.
  • Knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols.
  • Experience with system/platform integrations and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Shows initiative and is motivated to learn.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written); ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
