About the position

The QA Automation Engineer at Tyler Technologies is responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test scripts to ensure high-quality software products. This role involves leveraging automation tools to enhance testing processes and requires a commitment to professional development and best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, execute and maintain well formulated and complete test scripts.
• Perform a variety of testing including functional, regression, load, exploratory/heuristic and aiding in automation testing.
• Develop, execute, and document automation test scripts based on product review, functional specifications and documented manual test scenarios.
• Identify and document software defects in Jira and proactively communicate with internal stakeholders.
• Determine sequence of activities needed to maintain a high efficiency workflow.
• Commitment to developing professionally.
• Focus on best practices and cutting-edge approaches.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment; juggling multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
• Maintain existing test scripts leveraging automation frameworks and tools.
• Adhere to and help develop policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Assist in the identification of new procedures, methods and/or tools to improve the efficiency of the QA process.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• 3-5 Years QA Experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• Experience with Zephyr to capture test cases and Katalon to automate the test cases
• Prior experience in software quality assurance required, Tyler software or related experience helpful.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills involving sound decision making and effective resolutions.
• Solid understanding of QA testing methodologies and practices preferred.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of automation software like Selenium is a plus.
• Strong planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work streams effectively.
• Strong time management skills with proven track record of delivering successful results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving the ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical and non-technical information.
• Highly motivated and self-driven.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team.
• Ability to maintain a test environment effectively with regards to products, tools, data, and related aspects.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of automation software like Selenium is a plus.
