About the position

Our client is in search of a QA Automation Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for automating processes to evaluate, test, and assess security controls. This includes the implementation, operation, and maintenance of a framework to continuously monitor and test technical controls. You will support security risk management activities and contribute to executive management reporting, ensuring that the company's information assets are safeguarded through effective security controls management. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will define and document standards for security controls management and lead efforts to provide continuous monitoring of critical security controls. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing maintainable automation tests for controls assurance, designing test plans for complex systems in accordance with the overall testing strategy. You will participate in the full life cycle of a project, designing and executing automated test scripts, investigating and debugging test failures, and updating tests or reporting bugs as necessary. You will ensure proper version control and configuration management of test objects developed and test environments used. Additionally, you will perform data integration by combining data residing in different sources to provide stakeholders with a unified view. Enhancing monitoring systems used to detect and report control failures and security violations will also be part of your duties. You will provide recommendations to enhance existing policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to prevent unauthorized use, release, modification, or destruction of data. Your role will involve analyzing controls automation technologies, determining the strengths and weaknesses of each, and recommending the best cost-justified solution. You will create standard operating procedures and process workflows, develop and produce monthly metrics for key performance indicators and key risk indicators, and assist in the creation of project status reports while providing regular updates to management.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 4+ years of programming, test automation, manual testing, writing test plans and test cases or other directly related work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of automated testing applications, software testing methodologies, testing tools, platforms, related systems and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Processes and Methodologies.
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, problem resolution, customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations.
  • Requires effective time management and work ethics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Banking industry experience preferred.
