About the position
As a QA Automation Test Engineer at The Weather Company, you will collaborate with scrum teams to develop automation requirements, test plans, and tools for various products. Your role involves executing tests, documenting results, and working with development teams to address automation and performance issues. You will also assist in planning, executing, and reviewing user stories related to new features and defect verifications, while gaining domain knowledge of the company's products and how customers utilize them.
Responsibilities
- Develop automation test approaches and strategies for cloud-based and on-prem software applications.
- Log and track defects using designated tracking systems and tools.
- Participate in peer code reviews and help organize and execute a larger test strategy.
- Mentor and collaborate with other testers in test procedures and performance test tools.
- Adapt to changing environments with flexibility on testing tasks and assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or a Related Technical Field required.
- 2-5 years of related experience.
- Strong experience with test automation and performance test tools (JMeter, SQL tools, open source tools).
- Experience with TestNG, MS Build, and Selenium.
- Strong experience in scripting languages (Perl, Python, Shell, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins).
- Experience with diagnosing and testing UI, API, and database bottlenecks.
- Experience with load and stress testing is required.
- Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based technologies and platforms.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum/DevOps development methodology.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing process.

- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases is a plus.
