About the position

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a passionate and results-driven Senior QA/Automation Tester to deliver innovative manual and automated testing solutions for Corporate Trust applications. This role involves leading and planning testing efforts, analyzing requirements, creating test strategies and plans, designing and executing tests, and collaborating with stakeholders in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan the testing effort for Corporate Trust applications.
  • Analyze requirements and create test strategies and test plans.
  • Design and execute both manual and automated tests.
  • Report testing results and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Perform various types of testing including System, Integration, Data Migration, Sanity, Security, End to End, Smoke, and Regression testing.
  • Write automation scripts and manual test cases.
  • Identify software testing risks and areas for improvement.
  • Review software bug reports and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in sprint design, planning, grooming, and demo practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience as a QA automation engineer.
  • Expertise in planning, designing, and executing automation and manual testing activities.
  • Advanced programming skills including automation frameworks.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, .NET, or Python.
  • Experience with automation tools like Selenium/WebDriver, Appium, RestAssured, Cypress, Maven, BDD/TDD frameworks.
  • Ability to design, create, and execute API tests and SQL database queries.
  • Hands-on experience with various testing types following Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Detailed knowledge of software application testing standards and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good test leadership and test management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with low code/no code automation frameworks.
  • Experience with Behavior-Driven Development or Test-Driven Development frameworks.
