About the position

The QA Engineer position at Advanced Systems Design involves validating the configuration deliverables of a Grants Management solution provided as a Software as a Service (SaaS). The role focuses on Acceptance, Functional, and Regression testing of configuration changes, ensuring that the software meets business requirements and user needs. The QA Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders, document testing outcomes, and facilitate resolutions for any identified issues, contributing to the successful implementation of software solutions over a project timeline of 9 to 18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and debug test plans of software applications based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Review project requirements and develop appropriate test cases to validate all project requirements are met and produce the expected results.
  • Detect and identify web-based configuration/workflow failures so that issues are discovered, documented, corrected, and retested.
  • Evaluate software ease of usability and error handling procedures.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Document test results and generate a historical analysis of applications' capabilities and functionality.
  • Document configuration anomalies and defects in an issue-tracking database.
  • Participate in application planning/design meetings.
  • Provide application instructions for users.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience performing software testing.
  • Experience creating test cases for web-based software/application testing.
  • Experience with requirements traceability.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows PC and web browser testing environment.
  • Knowledge of Software Testing and Test Case Development.
  • Ability to detect and identify web-based software failures.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with Defect Tracking and Test Case Management.
  • Ability to interpret process diagrams (Business Process Workflow diagrams).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Keen attention to detail and processes.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, responsible, and cooperative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software, service desk ticket management, and communication tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of software testing experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn a new system and adapt to change.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of software development, project management, requirement gathering lifecycles.
  • Creative thinker and able to provide unbiased reporting (good and bad results).
