About the position

The QA Engineer Automated 3 position is a contract role focused on software quality assurance and automated testing for web-based applications. The role involves designing automated tests, executing test plans, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the functionality and reliability of applications within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform. The position requires strong communication skills and a solid understanding of programming and testing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
• Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
• Perform software quality assurance, testing, and support.
• Develop, enhance, maintain, and execute existing and new test plans and scenarios for web-based J2EE/Portal applications.
• Participate in requirements analysis, test design, test data preparation, and testing of various application components.
• Work with other teams as necessary to accomplish goals.
• Create technical and design documentation as required.
• Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
• Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
• Participate in program design, coding, and test walk-through meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in QA automation testing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding and experience of fundamental programming and testing concepts in the context of web-based UI applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is strongly preferred.
