About the position

The QA Engineer position is a contract role focused on driving high test automation coverage and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle. The role involves mentoring offshore QA engineers, collaborating with various stakeholders, and defining test strategies to enhance product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and technical experience in automation and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive high test automation coverage and achieve test automation goals.
  • Support offshore QA engineers by leading, mentoring, conducting code reviews, and solving problems.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, managers, developers, architects, and stakeholders to enforce quality standards based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Define the overall test strategy and plan for initiatives, ensuring completeness throughout the initiative.
  • Govern automated tests and the associated code.
  • Analyze test results and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Conduct code reviews and assess quality risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Quality Assurance experience.
  • Experience with any browser automated testing tool, such as Selenium or TestCafe.
  • Ability to establish and validate quality gates for multi-tiered solutions using modern tools and methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of testing techniques and best practices.
  • Ability to define and communicate QA Plans for projects.
  • Proven analytical skills to define test scenarios and root cause analysis in complex environments.
  • Identify new automation opportunities.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of technical experience.
  • Strong database experience and SQL or No-SQL skills.
  • Ability to create code in at least one programming language.
  • Design and create modular, reusable, and reliable test automation solutions.
  • Experience with git, pull requests, and branching.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and enhancement for testing needs.
  • Strong collaborative leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and mitigate risks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Quality Assurance certification from an accredited organization (e.g., ASQ).
  • Programming language experience: C#, TypeScript, JavaScript.
  • Experience with performance testing and load testing tools, including K6.
  • Experience in modern technology stacks, including Kubernetes, AWS, Data Lakes, SQL & No-SQL Databases, microservices, APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git, TFS/Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy.
  • Experience with Solarwinds/SentryOne.
  • Experience with Legitest data testing tools.
  • Experience leading other QA engineers or technical resources.
