About the position

The QA Engineer II position at Procom Services involves collaborating with application development, product management, and QA resources in an agile environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications. The role requires effective communication of issues and risks, conducting various types of testing, and providing guidance to junior team members. This position is primarily remote but requires occasional onsite presence for team integration and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate issues, risks, and dependencies with product teams, escalating where appropriate.
  • Test software for cross-functional product teams as needed.
  • Plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, and processes as determined within the product team's sprint planning.
  • Perform unit, functional, and regression testing on all software sprints and releases, ensuring successful completion of the test plan before user acceptance testing.
  • Follow software development/testing methodologies (such as agile/scrum) and maintain standards and procedures.
  • Actively participate in agile sprint planning and scrum teams.
  • Work with the product team to understand features, technical implementation, and collect necessary information to assure test coverage, providing feedback on quality issues.
  • Develop automation test scripts using available toolsets.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of quality assurance and testing best practices.
  • Familiarity with all phases of the software development lifecycle: Requirements, design, development, quality assurance, deployment, and operations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to quickly solve problems using Lean and/or agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to perform research when anomalies are encountered.
  • Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and technical writing skills with an ability to effectively interact with and convey information to people with varying levels of understanding.
  • Strong SQL query writing and understanding of relational databases.
  • Motivated self-starter, eager to learn.
  • Understanding of software testing, change, and release management, with the desire and aptitude for identifying and escalating areas for process improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years in software testing required.
  • Experience with API level testing preferred.
  • Debit Card experience highly preferred.
  • Automation experience preferred.
