About the position

The QA Engineer III is responsible for testing all software product changes, ensuring that products meet the desired quality standards. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, requiring strong technical and problem-solving skills. The incumbent will contribute to continuous process improvement and maintain effective communication within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain knowledge of business applications for the products being tested.
  • Follow software testing corporate standards.
  • Keep stakeholders updated with testing status.
  • Maintain test scenarios and test cases.
  • Identify areas for automation and develop plans to automate.
  • Perform test planning activities as required.
  • Create and modify automated test cases.
  • Create and modify test data.
  • Execute test cases and record results in Zephyr/HP ALM.
  • Identify software defects and manage them in Zephyr/HP ALM.
  • Determine defect severity based on corporate standards.
  • Communicate defect information with the agile team and stakeholders.
  • Retest defects when issues are resolved.
  • Provide additional documentation to software engineers as required.
  • Demonstrate test execution and results to stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of software quality assurance testing concepts, methods, and practices in an IT environment.
  • Thorough understanding of principles and practices associated with agile product model environment.
  • Experience with multiple testing tools including Groovy ReadyAPI/SOAP UI and SmartBear TestEngine.
  • Solid understanding of testing practices involving FileTransfer systems.
  • Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL with the ability to query databases.
  • Experience with Windows, Web Application, and/or Web Service environments.
  • Experience using JIRA or similar agile tools.
  • Experience using Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of UI testing using Cypress and Test Coverage tools.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and tools like Load Runner and LoadUI.
  • Ability to work within a team and mentor other QAs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience testing integrations built in FileTransfer systems such as GlobalScape, MoveIT, GoAnyWhere.
