About the position

The QA Engineer plays a crucial role in developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into finished products. This position ensures compliance with both internal and external regulations, which is vital for maintaining the integrity and reliability of the products offered by the company. The QA Engineer is responsible for analyzing manufacturing or customer issues, recommending corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. In this role, the QA Engineer will review customer orders, specifications, and engineering documentation to determine the necessary requirements for quality assurance. They will participate in customer and third-party audits, such as ASME and NUPIC, and serve on the Material Review Board to address any quality concerns. The QA Engineer will develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that all products meet the required standards. Additionally, they will approve supplier quality procedures and material test reports in accordance with ASME/ANSI standards. The QA Engineer will analyze reports and returned products, recommending corrective actions as needed. They will interface with testing and measurement personnel to ensure accurate assessments of product quality. Regular attendance at quality-related meetings with sales, manufacturing, assembly, and shipping teams will be required to resolve non-conformance issues effectively. Compliance with company policies, including environmental health and safety regulations, is essential, and the QA Engineer will complete assigned projects and perform supplier evaluations and audits to uphold quality standards across the board.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or other technical degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in technical Quality Assurance.
  • Working knowledge of codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section III, B16.34).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, NDE, materials, testing, and welding.
