About the position

The QA Engineer Intern position at TikTok is designed for undergraduate or master's students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance. The intern will work closely with frontend and backend engineering teams to ensure the quality and stability of social features within the TikTok platform. This role emphasizes learning and applying various testing methods and tools while contributing to the development of new features. The internship offers mentorship opportunities and aims to provide a solid foundation for personal and professional growth in the tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Work with Frontend and Backend engineering teams on new social feature products, delivering product and technical features from end to end.
• Build API test harness and improve API test coverage.
• Contribute to building quality tools for social feature products.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang, with experience in related project development.
• Fluent in Python.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025.

Nice-to-haves

• Good understanding of RPC/REST API web services.
• Good understanding of the software development cycle, software quality, and testing.
• Experienced in automation testing framework.
• Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
