About the position

The Lead Software Test Engineer position in Eagan, MN, is designed for a highly motivated individual to join a global team focused on software quality testing and automation. The role emphasizes driving automation efforts to enhance regression test coverage across various applications, while also providing technical direction and leadership to team members. The successful candidate will implement processes for automation within project iterations and collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure software quality and value addition.

Responsibilities

  • Drive automation efforts to align with overall automation strategy and best practices.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize smoke and regression test cases for automation.
  • Complete automation using QTP and other web-based tools.
  • Determine and provide metrics upon execution of smoke and regression suites.
  • Implement processes for delivering automation within project release cycles.
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to team members.
  • Plan, develop, and execute software testing tasks for applications using various technologies.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with software development and QA testing teams to meet requirements.
  • Share knowledge on best practices for testing software developed with new technologies.
  • Research and implement innovative quality testing services.
  • Actively participate in and lead organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of software testing and/or software development experience with various technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience leading team members.
  • 5+ years of experience automating tests, preferably using QTP.
  • Experience with vb scripting, HTML, and Java.
  • Working experience of automation frameworks (Keyword driven/Data Driven/Hybrid).
  • Proven experience in test planning and test case development.
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), including waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Strong technical aptitude with automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Experience working across multiple geographic locations and cultures.
  • Good inter-team communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, results-oriented individual with a successful track record.
