We are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded QA Tester to join our small team. Our ideal candidate has proven experience as the sole tester on a nimble, lightweight team building a highly-available, customer-facing web application. This project utilizes rapid design and development techniques in a SAFe Agile environment to respond to customer demands for meeting the challenges of government passport renewal directives. The successful candidate will interface with customers and teams to develop test plans, test cases, test data, accessibility test plans, automated scripts, etc., and has worked in a DevOps environment. The QA Tester will be responsible for creating and executing manual test cases to ensure the on-time, high-quality delivery of the online product in accordance with the project schedule. This includes conducting 508 testing to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements as defined by the Product Owner. The candidate will also develop testing status reporting tools and methods that will allow stakeholders at various levels to quickly assess the system status of their focused area and drill down to get details as needed. Additionally, the QA Tester will attend requirements gathering meetings to better understand business needs, functional and system requirements. In concert with the Product Owner, the tester will construct testing documents, including a testing plan, test cases, test data, and test scripts to ensure compliance with business requirements. The role also involves contributing to automation testing suites as needed and collaborating with development and analysts to ensure the implementation of the needed business, functional, and system requirements. Regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders is essential for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments. The QA Tester will understand, visualize, and manage upstream/downstream dependencies, drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity, and work across stakeholders and teams to continuously improve. Finally, the tester will participate with management and cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert to develop and improve operating policies and procedures related to user workflows and be an advocate for the user community.
