About the position

The Senior QA Engineer for Unreal Cloud Services at Epic Games is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of test strategies for cloud services. This role focuses on ensuring functionality, scalability, performance, and reliability of cloud-based collaborative content creation tools. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and drive innovation in game development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and execution of test strategies for cloud services Backend and Front end.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests based on white box testing techniques.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in testing and quality assurance, including CI/CD.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and product planning meetings to contribute to product quality.
• Track, analyze, and report key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate seamless integration of cloud services components.
• Analyze complex issues using logs, metrics, and debugging tools to document actionable bug reports.
• Oversee and guide QA contractors, coordinating their tasks and providing mentorship.

Requirements

• Experience with one or more coding languages, ideally RUST and/or C++.
• Proven ability to develop automation and test strategies.
• Proven ability to develop automated tests and contribute to automation frameworks and tooling.
• Familiarity with testing cloud-based web applications and native desktop applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an end-user perspective.
• Excellent understanding of software testing principles and methodologies; ISTQB certification is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for technology and delivering exceptional user experiences.
• Proactive in identifying issues and proposing process improvements.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset.
