About the position

As a QA Engineer for the Apple Vision Pro, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of new features on visionOS and developer tools. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills. Your responsibilities will include functional testing of new features, design and implementation of test plans and test cases, risk analysis, and prioritizing and escalating critical bugs. You will also be involved in integration testing across Apple platforms, ensuring that the end-to-end experiences are robust and amazing. You will be responsible for setting high standards within your areas of expertise and frequently collaborating with team members beyond your areas to ensure that we deliver superb products. As a cross-functional advocate for quality, you will work closely with development and automation engineers, developing test plans and user studies, bug triaging, and supporting design reviews. Your role will require you to balance multiple efforts simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment. The Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with physical space, allowing users to engage with their favorite activities in unprecedented ways while staying connected to those around them. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the user experience and ensuring the quality of this innovative product.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional testing of new features on visionOS and developer tools.
  • Design and implement test plans and test cases.
  • Perform risk analysis and prioritize critical bugs for escalation.
  • Conduct integration testing across Apple platforms.
  • Collaborate with development and automation engineers to develop test plans and user studies.
  • Triage bugs and support design reviews to ensure quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience crafting, maintaining, and executing test plans.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
  • Resourceful self-starter with a keen eye for details, focused on end-user experiences.
  • Adept at writing actionable bug reports using software like Bugzilla and Jira.
  • Experience working with complex software stacks with many software and hardware components.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Ability to balance multiple efforts simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Easily adaptable in a dynamic, constantly evolving, and demanding environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with testing consumer electronics and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency with Apple computing technologies like iOS, visionOS beta, Xcode, and Swift fundamentals.
