Genesis10 is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position that requires a dedicated professional to ensure the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using automation tools such as TOSCA and Selenium. This role involves designing and implementing test cases and scenarios based on the requirements and specifications provided by stakeholders. The consultant will conduct functional, regression, and end-to-end testing to ensure that the software meets the required standards. Additionally, the role includes performing database testing to validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy, which is crucial in the financial sector. The consultant will be expected to write and execute complex SQL queries to verify data in relational databases, ensuring that all data-related functionalities are working as intended. Collaboration is key in this position, as the consultant will work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test plans. The consultant will also identify, document, and track defects through JIRA, creating, managing, and executing test cases in test case management tools such as Qtest and Octane. Running metrics and generating reports on defects and test cases will be part of the responsibilities, as well as actively participating in agile/scrum routines and contributing to process improvements. Understanding the requirements and identifying gaps, as well as the high-level design of different integration types such as file, database, and API, will be essential for success in this role. The ability to collaborate and work with multiple teams, both onshore and offshore, is also a critical aspect of this position.
