About the position

The QA Engineer at Twisted Pixel Game Studio will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of a new VR game. This position involves problem-solving, technical testing, data analytics, and the creation of testing tools. The engineer will work collaboratively with the QA team and other developers while also spending significant time in a VR headset to identify and resolve in-game issues. Clear communication and a focus on automation and efficiency are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with QA team, Directors, and other developers to define acceptance criteria and plan test coverage.
  • Assist in executing day-to-day testing, identify risks, and build tooling and automation to improve efficiency across the team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product from both technical and user perspectives to identify quality improvements.
  • Implement automation test strategies and utilize technical tooling to expand QA coverage and improve efficiencies.
  • Report and track data quality, utilizing data visualization tools to drive conversations around risks and product quality.
  • Participate in team-level projects and roadmap discussions.
  • Spend multiple hours in a VR headset daily to identify defects and quality concerns.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional QA experience in a game testing environment.
  • 1+ years of professional coding experience using Python, Ruby, C++ or C#.
  • Experience with Unreal / UE4 or 5, Perforce, VS Code Debugger, and Unreal Editor.
  • Experience with Testing Software such as Atlassian Suite, ClickUp, or TestRail.
  • Experience with writing test plans and test cases.
  • Basic data literacy demonstrated by experience with KPIs, data analytics or statistics.
  • Understanding of playing VR multiple hours a day in a fast-paced app/game.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a QA or Dev role on a VR title.
  • Data management experience.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or creating data dashboards.
  • Experience with Blueprints.
