About the position

The QA Engineer position is a critical role within a leading VR/AR entertainment organization, responsible for overseeing the software and hardware development projects that support the company's VR businesses. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality through the development and execution of automated tests, while also managing the entire project lifecycle from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing system specifications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and implement effective testing strategies.
  • Develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Monitor debugging process results and investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
  • Responsible for creating, executing, and maintaining test scripts using Unity and other tools.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and verify software defects and other technical issues.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure consistent project execution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role in the Engineering industry.
  • Proven experience with automated testing tools, primarily using C#.
  • Solid knowledge of Unity and/or VR.
  • Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Proven experience in project management and QA methodology.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
  • Working knowledge of test management software and SQL.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Unity XR plugins is preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools for Unity is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a love for technical challenges, and a willingness to learn.
