About the position

The QA Engineer position at American Airlines is focused on supporting the Cargo business by leveraging advanced technology to address business challenges. The role involves participating in all phases of the development process, advocating for agile methodologies and test-driven development, and enhancing the codebase through object-oriented development tools. The engineer will be responsible for coding and implementing automated tests, analyzing test results, and conducting functional testing of APIs and UIs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs using programming techniques and computer systems.
• Evaluates user requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost, and time required.
• Formulates plans outlining steps required to develop programs using structured analysis and design.
• Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate the sequence of steps programs must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
• Captures and creates test scenarios for various software updates with test conditions for each scenario.
• Converts project specifications into detailed acceptance criteria and logical steps for testing functionality, data completeness, and accuracy.
• Automates test cases and conditions in various tools.
• Reviews and maintains the automated test suite and integrates these test cases into a CI/CD pipeline for automated testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
• 3 years of Automated test engineering experience with tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Cypress, Worksoft, Node.js.
• 3 years of experience using API testing tools.
• 3 years of experience with performance testing processes and tools such as Jmeter.
• 3 years of experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Github.
• 3 years of experience in designing and creating automation frameworks using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Appium, Protractor, Jasmine, Mocha.
• Experience in preparing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Summary Reports for various testing types.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience using API testing tools.
• 5+ years of experience with performance testing processes and tools such as Jmeter.
• 5+ years of experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Github.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and creating automation frameworks using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Appium, Protractor, Jasmine, Mocha.
• Airline Industry experience.
