About the position

As a QA Engineer at GrayMatter Robotics, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on ensuring the stability and seamless user experience of our AI robotics software. Your role will involve designing and executing both manual and automated tests for robotic functionalities, contributing to the enhancement of our proprietary GMR-AI™ software integrated with industrial robots. This position is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards in our products, ultimately supporting manufacturers in improving their operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases, plans, and scripts for robotic functionalities, including motion, control systems, sensors, and software integrations.
  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regression, functional, and stress testing.
  • Design, test, and release hardware and embedded software components to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on using our software stack from a customer and Application Engineer perspective.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team to understand architectural design and specific functionalities.
  • Work with hardware team to validate new peripheral devices for integration into preexisting robotic platforms.
  • Work with the product team and stakeholders to define and refine product requirements and specifications.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar/equivalent industry experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • If no testing experience: 1-3 years experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Proficiency in Python & C++.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Must secure work authorization in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ROS/ROS 2.
  • Familiarity with Docker.
  • CI/CD
  • Github Actions or Jenkins
  • Experience with Pytest.
  • Knowledge of Arduino or PLC programming.
  • API Testing experience.
