About the position

Randstad Federal is seeking a QA Engineer to support a program at the IRS, focusing on quality assurance testing for automated workflows. This role involves conducting testing initiatives, participating in sprint activities, and ensuring quality releases for new product features. The position is contract-based with a potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing initiatives and coordinate QA testing activities for sprint deliveries.
  • Participate in sprint grooming, test planning, product reviews, and other ad hoc meetings to ensure quality releases for automated workflows.
  • Convert requirements into test design, test cases, and test execution for new product features.
  • Create and execute test plans and provide feedback on the overall quality of the workflow.
  • Perform manual and automated test execution for new product features with complete test coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with the SCRUM team to ensure adequate resourcing across projects to meet deliverables and timelines.
  • Work with the automation team to prioritize new test creation for sites and applications and provide metrics on test coverage and progress.
  • Continuously improve the quality verification process and own and update the QA best practices and standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of in-depth QA Engineering experience.
  • Skilled in implementation and execution of cross-browser testing plans (Windows, OSX, iOS, Android).
  • Knowledge of API testing and web technologies (HTTP, web services, HTML/CSS).
  • Experience with performance monitoring, measurement, and tuning of websites and web applications.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including technical leads, business users, and executive management.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on product quality.
  • Understanding of federal compliance requirements and their impact on testing.
  • Familiarity or work experience with low code/no code development platforms (Pega, Salesforce, ServiceNow) and their design implications.
  • Experience with design thinking principles and their application in complex system design.
