About the position

As a QA Engineer at Flowserve, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development, implementation, and management of quality control programs and procedures. This position focuses on translating customer specifications and industry standards into product and process criteria, developing control plans, and addressing production quality issues across various settings. You will ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with multiple departments to enhance product quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and management of quality control programs and procedures.
  • Translate customer specifications and industry standards into product/process criteria.
  • Develop control plans to meet customer requirements.
  • Address day-to-day production quality issues within the manufacturing plant, at customer sites, and at supplier facilities.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Initiate methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation of process quality.
  • Analyze and report quality data to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate supplier quality and collaborate with departments to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for discrepant material.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Systems.
  • Review customer contracts and conduct quality assurance audits.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Advanced understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Systems.
  • Proficient in 8D, Pareto Analysis, and other problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving quality issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Oracle experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of statistical process control.
  • Proficient in Six Sigma analytical techniques.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred.
