About the position

Anresco Laboratories, established in 1943 and headquartered in San Francisco, is a commercial analytical testing laboratory that has been providing analytical testing services to the food and food-related industries for over 80 years. In recent years, we have expanded our services to include the rapidly growing cannabis industry, collaborating with some of the largest and most respected cannabis manufacturers, cultivators, and distributors in California, as well as hemp customers across the United States. We are currently seeking a reliable QA Lab Analyst to join our team and ensure that all external and internal quality requirements are met. This position will involve working closely with the Director of QA to maintain and enhance all aspects of our quality management system. The QA Lab Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of analytical work performed at Anresco. This includes devising procedures to inspect and report quality issues, monitoring all operations that affect quality, and facilitating proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing data quality. The analyst will also be responsible for reviewing current standards and policies, maintaining records of quality reports, conducting statistical reviews, and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements. Additionally, the role involves managing ISO 17025, FDA, ELAP, and third-party audits, writing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), logs, and forms, and generating training procedures for lab staff. The QA Lab Analyst will recommend workflow improvements, maintain a preventative maintenance program for lab instrumentation, track samples, and liaise with the lab to ensure timely reporting of results. Performing internal audits to assess and improve our quality system will also be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Recommending improved workflow and process improvements
  • Maintaining a preventative maintenance program for lab instrumentation
  • Tracking samples and liaising with the lab to ensure timely reporting of results
  • Performing internal audits to assess and improve our quality system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 1 year of experience in a QA/QC position
  • 1 year of laboratory experience
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of general lab safety
  • Understanding of quality assurance aspects, ISO requirements, and relevant regulations
  • Outstanding numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
  • Great attention to detail and a results-driven approach
  • Reliable and trustworthy with impeccable organization

Nice-to-haves

  • Analytical capabilities and experience/knowledge of the cannabis industry is preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience as an analyst is preferred
