About the position
The QA Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing quality assurance tests in accordance with established procedures. This role involves overseeing the National Distribution Center Quality Assurance Lab, reviewing product specifications, conducting ASTM testing, and maintaining quality data in SAP. The technician will also assist in product claims validation and communicate quality-related issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Abide by Quality Manual and Quality Policy Statement
- Oversee National Distribution Center Quality Assurance Lab
- Review Quality and technical data for products (Product Specifications, Technical Sheets)
- Perform ASTM Testing on products
- Assist in the determination of validity of product claims
- Maintain Quality Data in SAP
- Utilize fork-lift to maneuver pallets during audits
- Interpret Florida Tile and other company shading system and apply knowledge where needed
- Assist during rework when needed
- Communicate issues concisely and in a timely manner to all personnel in Quality
- Assist customer service with all Quality inquiries
- Operate wet saw to cut tile samples for inventory and testing
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 Years Quality Control related Experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly
- SAP experience
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Excellent communication/salesmanship
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Customer service driven
- Experience operating a fork lift/ability to train for fork truck license
- Visual color acuity (can't be color blind)
- Attention to detail
- Desire for continuous improvement and efficiency
