About the position

The QA Lead is responsible for overseeing quality assurance operations during their shift, acting as the primary communication point for the area. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety rules, company policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), while also managing staff training and shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point person for the shift and communication funnel for the area (bakery or topping).
• Report all holds and issues that occur in the shift report, including critical items like CCP issues to the Supervisor and/or Manager.
• Work on the designated line and assist in swabbing for the environmental monitoring program, ATP verifications, and allergen testing as necessary.
• Ensure all paperwork is properly filed at the end of the shift.
• Perform daily scale and thermometer calibrations.
• Manage the break schedule and provide relief for other staff on lines in the area (bakery or topping).
• Train and re-train QA floor staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
• Ensure that all company GMPs are being followed.
• Prepare all paperwork for the beginning of the shift as needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in quality and food safety.
• High school diploma (minimum).
• Strong proactive attitude and ability to go above and beyond.
• Ability to lead by example and strong team player.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle conflict resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong detail-oriented skills and analytical problem-solving skills.
• QA Tech experience at both Mulberry and Boudreau is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and flexible schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in quality assurance in food production environments.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
