About the position

The QA/Linux Systems Administrator role is essential for maintaining the stability, security, and functionality of Linux-based systems while conducting quality assurance testing on cybersecurity products. The position requires collaboration with development and operations teams to uphold high performance and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and security audits to ensure system integrity.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain uptime.
  • Implement and maintain system backups, disaster recovery plans, and configurations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA processes to validate new software releases.
  • Conduct functional, performance, and regression testing on cybersecurity products.
  • Design test cases and scenarios for manual and automated testing, ensuring thorough coverage of system features.
  • Work closely with developers to identify and resolve bugs and issues before product release.
  • Work with development and DevOps teams to ensure environments are optimized for QA and production.
  • Provide support for production environments when needed, ensuring quick issue resolution.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Apply and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard Linux systems.
  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and participate in security incident response activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Linux system administration (preferably with CentOS, Ubuntu, or other major Linux distributions).
  • Experience in quality assurance testing, including designing and executing test cases.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
  • Knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and basic cybersecurity practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Certifications such as Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or similar.
