About the position

Sucker Punch is looking for experienced, on-site QA Testers with a passion for Quality Assurance. Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform the following duties with minimal supervision and degree of autonomy.
  • Logging and tracking bugs in a bug database.
  • Maintaining a healthy bug database throughout all phases of the bug life cycle: from creation to regression.
  • Coordinating with various stakeholders among the studio, while adapting to specific needs of teammates or departments.
  • Actively involved in the implementation of new QA process, game features, and overall QA department initiative across the studio.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work on-site in Bellevue, WA.
  • 1+ year experience testing console games.
  • Game Studio QA experience.
  • Experience logging bugs into databases.
  • In-depth understanding of the development cycle of a game, from early iterative phases of development, to later stage polish.
  • An understanding of how the development stages of a game impact QA's efforts and focuses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work M-F 10 am - 6:30 pm and available for overtime when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using in-house or project-specific debugging tools.
  • Degree or experience in game industry related field.
  • Experience training/mentoring fellow members of a team.
  • Actively contributed in a QA role on at least one shipped game.
  • Experience with JIRA, Visual Studio, and PS5 Devkits.
  • Full working knowledge of SONY TRCs and compliance testing methodologies.
