About the position

The QA/QC Assistant Manager at Karat by Lollicup is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within the manufacturing environment. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and implementing effective quality control measures to maintain product integrity. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, select, orient, train, and manage QA employees.
  • Contribute to strategic plans and reviews for Quality Assurance operational objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for Quality Assurance.
  • Conduct hazard analyses and develop Quality Assurance plans.
  • Establish product specifications and Quality attributes.
  • Prepare Quality documentation and management reports.
  • Work closely with maintenance and production departments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Continually improve professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.
  • Interact with sales and customers for certifications and audits.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in a similar position or 5 years in a paper or plastic packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices Certifications and external Audits.
  • Knowledge of Process Monitoring and 6sigma concepts.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 standards.
