About the position

Wells Johnson Company is seeking a QA/QC Associate to join their team in Tucson, AZ. This full-time, permanent position involves testing and inspecting products during and after production, compiling statistical data to ensure product quality, and inspecting incoming materials. The role is crucial for maintaining quality standards in the manufacturing process and requires attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, document, and perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials/products from suppliers and outgoing products for customers.
  • Inspect products returned by customers and allocate appropriately.
  • Reject or action products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Read blueprints, plans, parts drawings, and specifications to understand product requirements.
  • Create Non-Conforming Reports (NCR's) to monitor quarantined and non-conforming materials.
  • Measure and validate product dimensions as needed.
  • Recommend and report improvements to the manufacturing process to ensure quality control.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Assemble, review, evaluate, and record quality data records and Device History Records (DHRs).
  • Resolve quality-related issues in coordination with the manager.
  • Contribute to quality management system implementation and improvement.
  • Perform scheduled machined parts quality sampling inspections.
  • Collect and record quality monthly statistics from related sources.
  • Maintain and check quality forms for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections using checklists.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of standard inspection measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Basic knowledge of Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485:2016 preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities.
