About the position

The QA/QC Electrician at Gaylor Electric Inc. is responsible for ensuring quality control and compliance with electrical standards on various industrial projects. This role involves interpreting design packages, maintaining quality control goals, and coaching crew members on specifications and code changes. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and the ability to work independently while ensuring safety and quality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand design packages for projects.
  • Interpret job site specifications accurately.
  • Set and maintain quality control goals through training.
  • Coach and teach crew members on new specifications and code changes.
  • Maintain records, verification, and test paperwork as requested.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Display sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience as a QC in an industrial setting.
  • Background in commissioning.
  • Proficient with the latest National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Strong emphasis on classified locations and NEMA Standards Publication VE for cable tray.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical/instrumentation work in refineries, gas plants, and data centers.
  • Ability to use and interpret contract drawings, schedules, and quality control plans for complex construction projects.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Physically able to climb 160 plus feet up and down ladders of towers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferably possess E&I QA/QC certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CxAlloy software.
  • Bi-lingual skills.
